I am Kate Scott Stewart.

I have been telling stories visually for over 15 years.

From years on set as a prop and wardrobe stylist in editorial and commercial production, I found my love of visual storytelling. I then moved into the advertising world, then branding, website design, and branded content; fifteen years of weaving creative design and strategic thinking together.

​

In 2020, I followed two dreams.

One was moving from the Southeastern United States to Iceland.

The other was becoming the designer I always knew I was inside, with a focus on nature, slow living, and the environment.

In 2023, I graduated from Háskóli Íslands with a Master's in Literature, Culture, and Media, focused on Icelandic place-making and storytelling. In 2025, I graduated from Listaháskóli Íslands with a Master's in Design and New Environments, exploring how advances in technology, including AI, can distort our perception of place and erode trust in what we see and read online.

 

That research is a big part of why I believe in physical things. Objects that traveled a real distance, made by real hands, from a real place.

I now work at Sveppa, helping tell their Icelandic brand story.

​

When not working, I take loads of photographs and collect them on my Instagram, which serves as a visual diary. I sometimes paint watercolors of the things I see, and can usually be found DIY-ing something in my house.

​

My love of the ocean, the Arctic North, and my home, Iceland, runs through most of what I make.
